Emily J. Newsom is a Director in the Gainesville office of Purvis Gray. She specializes in providing tax preparation, accounting, and advisory services to a wide variety of clients, including individuals, small to medium-sized businesses, not-for-profit organizations, trusts, and estates.

After earning her bachelor's degree from Morehead State University, Emily began her accounting career in 1987. She is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Florida, Ohio, and Kentucky.  She is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Emily has spoken to numerous groups on a variety of tax and accounting topics, including instruction of continuing professional education programs. She has also volunteered her time by serving on the boards of various not-for-profit organizations.
