David Lee is a Tax Partner with experience in pass-through entities, corporate mergers and acquisitions, exempt organizations, and estate and gift taxation.  He also serves as technical expert on the firm’s more complex general and foreign taxation matters.  Throughout his career, David has worked with a variety of publicly and privately held businesses, including real estate, construction, hospitality, manufacturing, not-for-profit, and service industries.  Prior to joining Purvis Gray, he served as a tax partner at a national accounting firm. He began his career in public accounting with a regional accounting firm where he worked as both an audit and tax senior.

David holds the AICPA’s specialized accreditation as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) as well as the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. Coupled with his tax, auditing, accounting, and macroeconomics background, David’s personal experience in business and investing provides him with the ability to grasp the fundamental essence of any complex problem quickly and efficiently regardless of the particularities of any given circumstance or industry.

David was primarily influenced to pursue a career in public accounting with an emphasis in taxation as a result of his interest in macroeconomics and the effectuation of the revenue-generation side of U.S. fiscal policy through the Internal Revenue Code. He attributes his successful career to his parents’ emphasis on work ethic and his parochial education.

Born and raised in DeLand, Florida, David currently resides in Orlando.  During his free time, he enjoys reading and traveling.
